The Approaches, Strategies, and Imageries on the Translation of the Poem “Refugees Blues”

This research aims at describing the approaches and strategies applied by Chairil Anwar in translating poem of W.H. Auden’s Refugees Blues into its translation Indonesian, Lagu Orang Usiran. also finding out what kinds imageries are contained translation. The method used for this is a qualitative descriptive analysis conducting procedures as follows: 1) determining data sources to be examined; 2) problems research; 3) comparing source text target identify applied; 4) identifying translation; 5) drawing conclusion proposing suggestion. results show that mimetic approach largely meanings forms faithfully; There four imagery translation, i.e., visual imagery, auditory kinesthetic organic imagery; regarding Rhymed strategy staying faithfully on rhymes, particularly end rhyme first second lines, repetition third lines every stanza.
